
SHIL at the NHS Scotland Event
With less than three weeks until the 2017 NHS Scotland Event, the SHIL team are excited to be part of the programme highlighting the value of innovation to our health service and its role in transforming health and social care.
In its twelfth year, the NHS Scotland Event is the largest gathering of NHS health professional’s and an exceptional showcase for some of the most exciting quality improvement techniques and approaches in modern healthcare.
The theme of this year’s Event, Working Differently Across Boundaries: Transforming Health and Social Care, will focus on the ambitious transformation we have embarked on in Scotland.
SHIL will take part in a number of different activities during the conference, including hosting first parallel session focussing on innovation in the health service.
Inspire, Innovate, Improve – Supporting Transformational Change in Our Health Service
Over 140 delegates will join us each day to hear first-hand from inventors at the forefront of innovation and transformational change within the NHS, and learn about some of the successful products and spin-outs SHIL has helped to develop over the years of collaboration with NHS Scotland. The session is designed to be inspiring and informative and will highlight the teams, processes and support available across NHS Scotland to accelerate ideas and innovations into viable products and services improving the quality and value of patient care.
Chaired by Ricky Verall, Head of the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) of the Scottish Government, speakers include; Graham Watson, Executive Chairman of SHIL; Dr Celestine Santosh, Clinical Consultant Neuroradiologist at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Chief Medical Officer at Aurum Biosciences; Andrew Fowlie, part of the Innovation Team at the Scottish Government; and Scott Johnstone, CEO of Scottish Lifesciences Association.
