A joint webinar between Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and the Chief Scientist Office (CSO) of the Scottish Government, giving an introduction to both the CSO and the CSO Fellowship Programme, 23 September from 12pm

The session will hear from the following speakers:

  • Katie Wilde (Chair), Co-director of HDR UK Scotland; Katie will provide an introduction to the webinar, and discuss the agenda for the event
  • Professor David Lowe, Clinical Lead for Innovation; David will provide a short introduction covering the CSO strategic vision
  • Sean Anderson, Senior Policy and Programme Manager; Sean will give a short overview of the CSO and the Innovation Fellowship Programme
  • Chris Sainsbury, Innovation Fellow; Chris will discuss his current research, using machine learning methodologies (generative adversarial neural networks, and a conditional variational autoencoder) to produce synthetic populations of individuals from routinely-collected Electronic Health Record data to estimate the effect size of therapeutic interventions of interest
