A free to join, CPD-accredited webinar programme is aiming to equip Scotland’s entrepreneurial-minded NHS staff both present and future with essential skills to accelerate their healthcare innovation ambitions

Healthcare professionals and student clinicians with a passion for forward-thinking ideas are urged to join the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur Programme’s ‘Innovate Health: The Foundation Series’, starting next month.

The standalone foundation course is designed “to inspire and empower healthcare students and professionals to think creatively and explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing healthcare today”.

Formal NHS Scotland partner InnoScot Health is delighted to be supporting CEP and is encouraging forward-thinking health service staff to get involved in the online sessions from Thursday 25 September.

Head of Project Management at InnoScot Health, Gillian Henderson says The Foundation Series is “an ideal platform to start learning more about the transformational opportunities that are available to all, and which being part of Scotland’s CEP drive represents”.

She believes the free sessions will “help to hone the insight and know-how required to successfully develop innovative ideas which complement and enhance daily health service learnings”.

Gillian insists it is “the exact kind of initiative which NHS Scotland needs at the moment”.

The series of engaging webinars introduces key concepts in innovation and entrepreneurship from experienced founders and healthcare professionals.

They will help to develop the foundational knowledge needed to kickstart innovation journeys which could help to build a better NHS Scotland.

  • Thursday 2 October 2025
Identifying a Problem and Generating an Innovative Idea’ aims to help budding innovators to understand and focus in on the problem they are attempting to solve, while researching their marketplace and landscape, customers and users, and identifying where their innovation or idea sits.
  • Tuesday 7 October 2025

InnoScot Health is proud to be part of a collaborative group of organisations — alongside The Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), NHS Education for Scotland (NES), Techscaler, Scottish Enterprise, and Chief Scientist Office (CSO) — supporting Scottish participation in CEP, delivered by Anglia Ruskin University (ARU) and is part of the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC).

Gillian continued: “CEP is truly inspirational for anyone within NHS Scotland who is looking to become an agent of change, and we’re delighted to have the opportunity of continuing to offer our unique expertise to its ambitious, progressive participants.
