The programme for this year’s Glasgow Tech Week has gone live, with impactful healthcare innovation set to be at the centre of this unique opportunity to learn, connect, and collaborate

The city’s third Tech Week gathering in as many years will take place from 7-11 September with organisers Glasgow City Innovation District promising “over 40 events and activities across the city”.

These will include keynote talks, hands-on workshops, panel discussions, networking events and immersive experiences, with a significant healthcare presence underlining the latest tech advances in development for Scotland’s patients while supporting economic growth.

Collectively, the week will cover topics ranging from professional development and emerging technologies to investment and business support, with the full programme set to be unveiled later this summer.

“We're bringing together founders, tech leaders, ecosystem builders, and the wider community to celebrate the innovative work taking place within Glasgow’s tech, digital and creative ecosystem,” Glasgow City Innovation District said.

One of Scotland's healthcare innovation leaders, InnoScot Health is backing the call for healthcare organisations to get involved and support local innovation and growth.

The organisation believes this annual celebration of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship has gained incredible momentum since its launch in 2024

Head of Business Development for InnoScot Health, Frances Ramsay said: “Glasgow Tech Week is well positioned to build on previous years’ successes with Scottish healthcare set to benefit from this gathering of some of the country’s best tech minds.

“There is so much talent and expertise coming out of Glasgow’s diversely innovative ecosystem alone, and no doubt many from outside the city will also be inspired to join this vibrant showcase, including headline gathering Fusion Fest on 10 September.”

Monday 7 September

• The Future of Biotech in Scotland, organised by the Smart Things Accelerator Centre (STAC)
• Introduction to the Demonstration & Simulation Environment (DSE), organised by the Digital Health and Care Innovation Centre (DHI)

Wednesday 9 September

• Unlocking NHS Scotland procurement for SMEs, organised by techUK

Previous Tech Week event partners have included the Digital Health Validation Lab (DHVL), CodeBase, and the West of Scotland Innovation Hub — part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde — with a strong healthcare innovation presence expected once more this September.

Last year’s Glasgow Tech Week welcomed over 3,000 attendees “bringing the city alive with ideas, energy and opportunity”.

Glasgow City Innovation District is home to a wide range of innovative organisations drawn from across a number of sectors. It also hosts the UK's only Fraunhofer Institute — the Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP) — five UK Catapults, and four Scottish Innovation Centres.
