Glasgow Tech Week set to ‘connect city’s innovators to vital new sparks of healthcare inspiration’
Glasgow Tech Week participants with cutting-edge healthcare interests must seize the opportunity to ‘connect and create vital sparks of inspiration,’ a leading innovation agency insists
The city’s third Tech Week gathering in as many years will take place from 7-11 September with organisers Glasgow City Innovation District “looking to include even more sector-leading, innovative events across the tech, digital and creative ecosystem”.
Innovation agency InnoScot Health is backing the call for healthcare organisations to get involved and submit an application by 12 April to help ensure their proposed event is part of this exciting week for the Glasgow ecosystem.
Innovation Commercialisation Manager for InnoScot Health, Frances Ramsay said: “I am in no doubt that Glasgow Tech Week will be bigger and better this year, and that further transformative partnerships will be formed across breakfast seminars, educational workshops, networking evenings, and more.
“Those in the healthcare space should seize the opportunity to host events, take part, connect and create vital new sparks of inspiration for both mutual growth ambitions and improved patient outcomes.
“This annual celebration of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship has gained incredible momentum since its launch in 2024, including everything from AI to climate tech, digital health, and robotics, and that is sure to continue into 2026 with significant benefits for Scottish healthcare.”
She added: “The week brings together ambitious founders, tech leaders, ecosystem builders, and the wider community to celebrate the innovative work taking place within Glasgow’s diversely innovative ecosystem which is brimming over with talent.
“That means multi-disciplinary healthcare expertise coming together across NHS, industry, and academia to exchange knowledge and collaborate — exactly what Scotland needs to take ideas to the next level.”
Previous Tech Week event partners have included the Digital Health Validation Lab (DHVL), CodeBase, and the West of Scotland Innovation Hub — part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde – with a strong healthcare innovation presence expected once more this September.
Last year’s Glasgow Tech Week welcomed over 3,000 attendees and hosted more than 40 events “from cutting-edge demos and panel discussions to networking receptions and skills workshops, bringing the city alive with ideas, energy and opportunity”.
Those who are proposing events are advised that shortlisting will consider theme, audience, format, and how proposals align with the overall programme.
Once submissions close on 12 April, the Glasgow City Innovation District team will go through a review process from 13-27 April and follow up with applicants to confirm whether their event will be included in this year’s programme with 10 September reserved for headline gathering Fusion Fest.
Event applicants will be notified from 28 April before a formal programme announcement is made in early summer.
Glasgow City Innovation District is home to a wide range of innovative organisations drawn from across a number of sectors. It also hosts the UK's only Fraunhofer Institute — the Centre for Applied Photonics (CAP) — five UK Catapults, and four Scottish Innovation Centres.
