Less invasive cardiothoracic surgery is a safe, effective alternative to open-heart surgery, which means there is no need to cut through the breastbone and spread the ribs to access the heart
It has many clear benefits, including less scarring and reduced pain thanks to smaller incisions, compared with open-heart surgery which requires a long incision down the centre of the chest; creating faster recovery times, less blood loss, and a lower risk of infection.

- In 2022, InnoScot Health invested alongside London & Scottish Investment Partners, Discovery Investment Fund and Scottish Enterprise to enable CardioPrecision to begin roll out of its technology post relaxation of international COVID restrictions
- In 2023, CardioPrecision introduced its unique technology for use in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) surgery at the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston
- In 2024, CardioPrecision played a leading role in bringing the world’s first robotic aortic valve replacement through the neck significantly closer to reality. The company demonstrated a proof-of-concept AVATAR (Advanced Videoscopic Aortic valve surgery by Transcervical Approach using Robot-assistance) procedure in Chicago. This represented an important milestone in progressing towards clinical cases, utilising the company’s CoreVista® Robot Enabling Platform™
- In 2025, CardioPrecision further enhanced its reputation after successfully executing the world’s first clinical cases of robotic aortic valve replacement through a precise opening in the neck
